thumbnail On these slopes it is easier to hook the trees on from this position. It's not as dodgy as it looks and the horse won't move whilst his picture is being taken !
thumbnail Standing for another photo
thumbnail The stable block at The Hafod. Built in 1882
thumbnail The stable block renovated in 2001
thumbnail The choker chain is left long because Thor is about to pull the log down a steep bank. The log is 0.43 cubic meter so I dont want it sliding down the hill into his legs. At the bottom of the bank I will shorten the chain.
thumbnail Another log, another view.
thumbnail At the bottom of the bank now so the choker chain is shortened
thumbnail The Logs are pulled onto the main haulroad and the skidder takes them down to the landing
thumbnail Back in the wood and getting in position to get the next load
thumbnail Hooking on some oak thinnings
thumbnail Thor with Bentley in the backround (Bentley has now been sold)
